Creamatch goal: 100,000 vetted Malaysian creators by end of 2027, with 2,100+ vetted creators today

Creamatch is building the infrastructure for Malaysia's creator economy: one system for matching creators to briefs, reviewing their work, shipping products, paying creators on time and learning from the data what actually works. As of 29 October 2026 there are over 2,100 vetted Malaysian creators on Creamatch. Our public goal is 100,000 by the end of 2027.

This is an honest update from me, Umar, on where we are, what we are building and where we are going. It ends with something useful for creators: a report card built from our own data.

Last updated: 29 October 2026 (Malaysia time).

Why we are not just an agency

An agency sells hours. Every new campaign means the same messages, the same spreadsheets and the same follow-ups, done again by hand. That does not scale, and it is why creators so often end up waiting for an answer or a payment.

We are self-funded, so we cannot grow by adding more people every time the work grows. Instead, we put the work into software. When a step is done well once, it should be done well every time, for every brand and every creator. Our team still steps in where judgement matters. The system handles the repetitive parts.

What we are building

The platform covers the whole campaign, from brief to results:

  • Matching. Brands describe the creators they need (niche, follower range, location, content rules). Only approved creators can apply, and each applicant gets a fit score against the brief.
  • Clear briefs. Video briefs spell out the must-haves: video length, on-screen text, the hook, must-show shots and the don'ts. Creators tick a checklist before they submit, so fewer drafts come back.
  • Review. Scripts and drafts go to the brand for approval. When work is sent back, the reason is recorded, so creators see exactly what to fix.
  • Logistics. Products ship to creators with tracking, and a creator's deadline pauses while the parcel is still on its way.
  • Payouts on time. Approved earnings go into the creator's wallet and are paid out in a regular payout run, with the status of every payment visible to the creator.
  • Data on what works. We measure live posts and compare each one with the creator's own usual results. The report card below is the first thing we are sharing from that work.

Every delivered client campaign is published as an anonymous case study. We never publish brand or creator names there.

What “vetted” means

A creator only counts towards our number once they are approved. Signing up is not enough. Before approval we check that:

  • their social account exists and is active;
  • their profile is complete and belongs to a real person, not a test account;
  • they have signed the Creamatch creator agreement.

To apply for a campaign, a creator also needs a real, deliverable street address. We do not publish the exact thresholds we use, because that would only make the checks easier to game. Test, staff and incomplete accounts are never counted.

100,000 creators by 2027

Going from over 2,100 to 100,000 vetted creators by the end of 2027 is an ambitious goal, and we are saying it publicly so you can hold us to it. The number only matters if the bar stays the same: we would rather miss the target than lower the definition of vetted.

Why this many? Brands keep asking for creators in specific places, niches and languages. A creator economy that works for the whole country needs creators from every state, not only the Klang Valley, and it needs small creators as much as big ones.

Creator report card: what our data says works

We studied about 41,000 posts on Malaysian creators' own TikTok, Threads and Instagram accounts from the last 18 months. We compared each post with that creator's own usual views, so a big account and a small account are judged fairly. A breakout is a post that got more than 3× the creator's own median views. The campaign lines come from posts made on Creamatch campaigns.

Read it honestly: these are patterns in our data, not guarantees. A correlation is not proof that one habit causes a breakout. Score yourself: tick each line you already do.

Tick if you do thisWhat our data showed
Threads: my first line is a question.21.4% of Threads posts with a question in the first line broke out, against 16.4% without one (1,868 posts with a question).
Threads: I post with no hashtags.18.0% of Threads posts with no hashtags broke out, against 7.1% of posts with 4–7 hashtags.
Threads: my post is at least 40 characters, not a one-liner.Only 9.9% of Threads posts under 40 characters broke out, against about 19% for longer ones.
I write the way I talk, BM or rojak included.Posts with BM or rojak words broke out more often: 18.7% vs 15.0% on Threads and 19.0% vs 15.7% on TikTok.
Instagram: my caption tells a story, not a hard sell.Instagram captions with hard-sell words (promo, link in bio and similar) broke out 8.4% of the time, against 15.2% without them.
I post when the content is ready, not at a “magic hour”.Across every 3-hour slot and every weekday, 15–19% of posts broke out. Posting time made little difference.
Campaigns: I read the whole brief so my work is approved first try.Revised work did worse against the creator's own usual views than work approved first try: 0.64× vs 0.97× on own-page videos, 0.64× vs 0.86× on TikTok Shop affiliate videos. Small samples, so treat it as a strong hint.
I know my own typical views and work on growing them, not just followers. On creator-page videos, a creator's own past median views explained about half of how a campaign video did (R² 0.51). Follower count explained less (R² 0.35).

Your grade

  • A: 7–8 ticks: keep going, you are doing what our data rewards.
  • B: 5–6 ticks: pick one missing habit and try it on your next five posts.
  • C: 0–4 ticks: start with the brief and the first line. Those two are the easiest wins.

Small creators are not a weakness

On our campaign posts, nano creators (1K–10K followers) had a median engagement rate of 5.1%, against 1.3% for creators with 100K+ followers. If you are small, your audience is often more engaged. Your own typical views tell brands more than your follower count, so track them.

Where we are going

  • More creators, same bar. Growing towards 100,000 vetted creators across every state.
  • Better briefs. When creators keep missing the same thing, the system now asks the brand to add it to the brief. Clear briefs are the cheapest way to get work approved first try.
  • More of what works, shared openly. We will keep publishing findings like the report card, with sample sizes and honest caveats.
  • Tested, not guessed. Next we want to test ideas such as question hooks properly, across many campaigns, instead of relying on correlations alone.

If you are a creator, join Creamatch. If you are a brand, see how campaigns work. Thank you to every creator and brand who has trusted us so far.

Frequently asked questions

How many creators are on Creamatch? Over 2,100 approved Malaysian creators as of 29 October 2026. Test, staff and incomplete accounts are not counted.

What does a vetted creator mean on Creamatch? We check the creator's social account and profile, and they sign our creator agreement before approval. Only approved creators can apply to campaigns.

Is Creamatch an agency? We run managed campaigns, but the product is a platform that handles matching, briefs, review, logistics and creator payouts in one place.

Will following the report card make my post go viral? No one can promise that. The report card shows habits that went with more breakouts in our data. Treat it as a guide, not a guarantee.

Does posting time matter? In our data, very little. Every 3-hour slot and every weekday had a similar share of breakout posts.
